SafeStay ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We keep things simple and don't collect more than we need.

2. What We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We don't receive or store your Google password.

Guidebook Content

Property details, house rules, Wi-Fi credentials, check-in instructions, recommendations, and photos you upload.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your credit card details. Lemon Squeezy handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.

Usage Data

We collect basic analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the product. This may include your IP address, browser type, and device information.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide and maintain the SafeStay service.
To process payments and manage subscriptions.
To send important service updates (not marketing spam).
To improve the product based on usage patterns.
To respond to support requests.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to essential personnel only.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We may also use analytics cookies (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand how people use SafeStay. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

6. Third-Party Services

We share data with these third parties only as needed to provide the service:

Google — Authentication (OAuth).
Supabase — Database and file storage.
Lemon Squeezy — Payment processing.
Google Analytics — Usage analytics (anonymized).

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data.
Correct inaccurate information.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Export your guidebook data.
Opt out of non-essential analytics.

8. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law (e.g., payment records for tax purposes).

SafeStay is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
